A transient was taking care of her son’s dog while she stayed at an homeless encampment at Third Street and Santa Teresa Boulevard, 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12. The woman was sleeping and awoke to the dog attacking her in the face. The dog was taken into police custody and declared a level two dangerous dog. The dog is being held for quarantine.

A dog bit an unidentified person on Arbor Street, 5:24 p.m. Nov. 12.

Grand theft

A thief or thieves stole gold children’s bracelets with a star-shaped diamond design valued at $800, a gold bracelet with a starfish valued at $250 and a marquise-cut diamond ring with two round diamonds valued at $500 from Swanston Lane, Oct. 25.

A thief or thieves stole a BMX bike with a black frame, red fork and black components from a yard on Kern Avenue, 4:17 p.m. Nov. 11.

A thief or thieves stole property from Sunrise Drive, between 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

Auto burglary

A burglar or burglars stole about 60 tools valued at $300 and a gray stereo valued at $120 from Montebello Drive, 3 a.m. Nov. 5.

A burglar or burglars stole a wallet from a gray 2002 Ford F15 on Carr Place and attempted to use a credit card at an unspecified location in Gilroy, 3:25 p.m. Nov. 7.

A burglar or burglars entered locked and unlocked vehicles in a service yard on East Ninth Street and took a digital camera valued at $260, an auto stereo valued at $300, a light tester valued at $100, a car stereo valued at $150, a GPS valued at $250, a flash light valued at $30 and various keys valued at $100, between 5 p.m. Nov. 10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 11.

Assault

An unidentified individual was attacked by two unknown males in the parking lot of Tacos El Grullense Jal, 7 p.m. Nov. 6.

A man who had been dating his girlfriend for 10 months grabbed her arms and threw her to the ground, 9:35 p.m. Nov. 7.

Non-injury accident

A white 2001 Lexus 300, a 2001 Ford F15 and a silver 2003 Dodge Ram were involved in a rear-end accident on Leavesley Road, 8:25 p.m. Nov. 6.

A white 2001 Chevrolet 150 and a black 2009 Chevrolet 150 were involved in an accident, 9:33 a.m. Nov. 11. The driver of the black Chevrolet was making a left turn from eastbound Welburn Avenue on to northbound Santa Teresa. The driver of the white Chevrolet was headed southbound on Santa Teresa Boulevard, did not see a red light, and broadsided the black Chevrolet.

Missing juvenile

Police located a missing juvenile and returned the child to his or her mom on Mantelli Drive, 9:20 p.m. Nov. 6.

A girl who is a frequent runaway was reported missing from her Montebello Drive home, 11 p.m. Nov. 9. She frequents the area of Eighth and Church streets.

A missing juvenile was reported on First Street, 9 p.m. Nov. 11.

A chronic runaway was reported missing on Fairview Drive, Nov. 11.

Vehicle tampering

A black 2003 Chevrolet on Kelton Drive was tampered with, 9:29 a.m. Nov. 11.

Threat

An unidentified person threatened to cause harm to two other people on Williamsburg Way, 10 p.m. Nov. 6.

Fraud

A burglar or burglars stole a purse from an unlocked blue 2005 Dodge on Church and Fifth streets, between 10:10 and 10:45 p.m. Nov. 6., and later used one of the stolen debit cards.

An unknown person or persons attempted to charge $2,200 on a credit card of a Lilly Avenue resident, 6:19 p.m. Nov. 8.

A unknown person or persons accessed a Tapestry Drive resident’s checking account and withdrew about $430, Nov. 9. The transaction occurred in the Los Angeles area while the victim was in Las Vegas.

Petty theft

A thief or thieves stole two chairs valued at $150 and a concrete pillar valued at $100 from a porch of a home on La Sierra Way, between 10 p.m. Nov. 6 and 8 a.m. Nov. 7.
