Gilroy – Police have released a sketch of an unidentified man, suspected of raping a 15-year-old girl in Christmas Hill Park last Wednesday.
The teen told police that four men approached her as she walked along the levy at 9am that day. She left with one man, who sexually assaulted her near the park amphitheater, police said. The girl reported the rape to Gilroy police about 3:30pm that afternoon.
The suspect is described as a 19- to 25-year-old Hispanic man with brown hair, brown eyes, 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering, blue jeans and a red baseball cap. He rode an older dark-colored 10-speed or mountain bike. The victim described all four men as unkempt.
The assault is the second such incident reported in Christmas Hill Park in April, after a 14-year-old boy reported being assaulted by a man who offered him a ride to the library, then drove him to the park instead. Police have been unable to obtain a sketch of the suspect involved in the first incident.
