Kevin Onyekekwe, who has inherited the moniker “KO” continued his running abilities by racking up195 yards on the ground and four touchdowns to help the Gilroy Browns Junior Midgets remain undefeated with a 30-14 victory over the San Jose Saints.
Anthony Bollendorf scored a 2-yard touchdown run in the victory over the 3-1 Saints to puch the Browns record to 4-0.
Gilroy went into halftime with a narrow 18-14 lead, but defensive adjustments to counter the strong misdirection offense Saints had success with in the first half.
The Browns’ defense, Brendan Lerma, Matthew Olivier, Anthony Lopez, Charles Good, Henry Gallegos, Conner Doyle, Eddie Prado, Joseph Avendano, Devin Scatena, Jesse Molini, Freddie Mireles, Anthony Corral, Anthony Bollendorf, Juan Villarreal and Onyekekwe, had the assignment of finding the tough-to-see tan Pop Warner football with the Saints wearing their Vegas Gold jerseys.
The Browns will travel to take on the 4-0 Salinas Cardinals on Saturday at 3:30.
