A closet fire prompted the evacuation of several residents living in an apartment complex in south Gilroy.
On May 21, Gilroy Fire Department firefighters came to the aid of a resident on the 6800 block of Princevalle Street who used a fire extingiusher to begin partially putting the fire. They put out the blaze.
The fire threatened nearby structures and “had the potential to get into the attic, which would have affected fiver other (apartment) units,” said Gilroy Fire Captain James Buessing.
