The Purple Kings surged past the Gold Lakers 25-19 in Boys’ 5-6 Grade Youth Basketball Program play Saturday at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Evan Goldsmith ignited the Kings offense with 10 points. Noah Zertuche added five points for the 4-1 Kings. Andrei Arroyo tossed in 11 points for the Lakers.

The Blue Hurricanes outlasted the Purple lady Lakers 19-11 in Girls’ 5-7 Grade action.

Alyssa Sandoval carried the Cane offense with an eight-point outburst. Katie Gurries produced five points for the winners. Daniella Sandoval and Ashley Irby keyed the Cane defense.

The Gamecocks defeated the Crush 36-16 in Boys’ 7-8 Grade competition.

Brandon David struck for 12 points, Alexander Gutierrez 10 for the Gamecocks. Alex Rojas scored six points, had four rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Crush. Anthony Litrell-Garcia was good for four points, nine boards and two steals.

The Gamecocks added a 26-19 win over the Warriors as Gutierrez bounced back with 10 points, David eight.

The Blue Jaws topped the Celtics 29-13 in Boys’ 4 action. Lawrence Acosta dropped in 14 points, Brandon Ellenberg 11 for the winners. Noah Vasquez used his speed to ignite the 5-0 Jaw offense.

The Red Blazers trimmed Purple Rain 18-11 behind 10 points from Rigo Vasquez, six from Justin Soseman.

The Sharks topped the Celtics 27-13. Matt Jensema secured 11 points and Michael Sanchez had one assists for the Celtics.

The Red Super Stars defeated the Sharks 14-6 in Co-Rec 3, Girls 4 play. Cameron Childers scored six points, Anna Gamboa four. The Lakers defeated the Warrors 20-7. Clare McCarry tallied five points, Andrew Nguyen two for the Warriors.
