“I was wondering why the very small but highly visible area of Christopher High did not get landscaped properly? This area is what presents the school from Santa Teresa Boulevard. It’s in between not only one, but two chain link fences. There are lots of weeds and not much else. Simply doing drought tolerant, low-cost landscaping would have been nice.”

Red Phone: Dear Landscaping Needed,  There are plans to add landscaping and a marquee sign in front of the school in the area where the storm water goes into an underground drain, said Rebecca Wright, the assistant superintendent of business services for the school district. But in the area with the open storm water trench, there are no plans to add landscaping at this time, she said.

New Community Pulse members
“I have nothing at all against the people who are in the Community Pulse column. But it might be time to change it up and get some new opinions. I appreciate their opinions. But it seems like the same people have been in there for a long time. I would like to see another group of individuals, community leaders, business people and teachers. Thanks.

Red Phone: Dear Fresh Faces Needed, If the kind caller has some suggestions, we’re certainly open. Just call back and leave the Red Phone a few names. There are two new voices on the Community Pulse and a third who will, hopefully, be joining shortly.
