A rattling Monterey Road ride
The ditch on Monterey Road at Luchessa Avenue has been repaired. Here is the Red Phone from March 7.
“Hey Red Phone. Got in the left turn lane from southbound Monterey Road onto Luchessa Avenue the other day and hit a ditch so large it rattled my teeth. When I made the U-turn onto northbound Monterey Road, I saw the same ditch running across the street. It appears somebody tore up a section of the street to work on something underground. I thought contractors were supposed to replace the pavement to its original state. What’s going on?”
Red Phone:
Dear Rattled, Red Phone contacted city Engineer Don Dey, who said he’d get right on it.
“I have contacted operations (department) and asked them to repair the pavement on Monterey (Road) at Luchessa (Avenue).”
So, keep your fingers crossed good caller. Soon, you’ll have a smooth ride as you make that turn.
The ditch has been repaired. As of earlier this month, workers filled in the hole, providing much smoother ride for southbound travelers on Monterey Road.
