2002 after a long illness.
Rodolfo Q. Lujan passed away in Gilroy, California on Oct. 29, 2002 after a long illness. Mr. Lujan is survived by his wife of 26 years Esther H. Lujan of Gilroy; his son Rodolfo Lujan, Jr. and his wife, Alejandra of Los Banos; his grandchildren Francisco Hernandez, Rudy Lujan, III, Adrian Lujan, Joseph Lujan and Isaiah Lujan, all of Los Banos; his brother Alfred Lujan of Sacramento, Joe Quintana and his wife Lazara of Gilroy and Manuel Lujan of Sierra Blanca, Texas; his sisters Lupe Martinez and her husband Clarence of Gilroy and Nancy Navarette and her husband Raymond of Woodland; his sisters in law Mary Lou Hernandez of Gilroy and Juanita Lujan of Palmdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lujan was the nephew of Manuela De La Rosa of Gilroy, Cleofas Quintero of Roswell, N.M., Maximo Quintana of El Paso, Texas and the godfather of Gracie Hernandez and her daughter, Ashley of Greenfield, Ind., Raymond Hernandez, Kiko Hernandez, Ernie Martinez, Philip Hernandez, Jessica Hernandez, and Michael Hernandez all of Gilroy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcario and Maria Lujan and his grandparents, Martin and Amalia Quintana and his brother Jesse Lujan.
Rodolfo was born in Sierra Blanca, Texas 58 years ago. Mr. Lujan moved to Gilroy in 1954. He worked for Gaylord Container in Gilroy for 20 years as a machine operator and fork lift drive. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, gardening and working on bikes. Rodolfo also enjoyed socializing with his family and friends. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Vigil Service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Family and Friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. and procession to St. Marys Church where a Funeral Mass will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine.
