Gilroy – Rosso’s Rebels improved to 2-0 atop the Men’s Winter CC League standings Friday at Gavilan Sports Park with a 20-12 nod over Johnson Lumber.
Alex Pena went 4-for-4 and Adrian Ponce and Ryan Alnis each added a home run and two singles to spark the Rosso’s offense. Gabriel Hernandez and Steve Arriaga hit consecutive home runs for Johnson Lumber in a nine-run third inning.
Extreme Air opened Winter CC play with a 12-10 edging of Buzz N By U. Brad Burrows hit a two-run homer and two-run single for Extreme Air, Abie Espinoza a home run and two singles. Kurt Gitmed homered in a 4-for-4 effort for Buzz.
Ken Tenasi homered with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Las Animas Sweepers past Murderer’s Row-Manolow’s Glove Repair 11-10. Kevin Orosco hit two home runs and Brian Cortez added a solo shot for the 1-1 Sweepers. Daniel Hinojos and Rich Valencia each netted four hits for the Row.

Rick Trujillo hit two triples and scored four runs as Jose Serrano Trucking reached 2-0 in Co-Rec Winter C League play Sunday with a 12-11 decision over Cosa Nostra at Las Animas Park.
Tony Estrada went 3-for-3 for the Truckers. Isaiah Gonzalez homered in a 3-for-3 afternoon and Matias Franco added three hits to the Cosa Nostra attack.
The Big Kahunas also hit 2-0 in league play by trimming Frame Your Family In Eyewear 19-16.
Rudi Groppe launched a three-run home run and Mark Logan cracked a triple, two doubles and a single for the Kahunas. Ana Patejdl added two doubles and a single for the winners. Armando Martinez stroked four hits and Nicole Villarreal lined two tripled and a single for the Framers.
A to Z moved to 1-1 by topping Loco’s Only 20-1. Brenda Subia went 3-for-4 with a home run and Dennis Subia added three doubles for the winners. Frankie Navarrete doubled and scored on the Adam DeLeon single for Loco’s Only.
Men’s D
Torturede Souls Tattoo began Men’s Winter D League action Friday with a 15-13 verdict over the Bomb Squad at Las Animas.
Art Mancera powered a run-scoring double as Tortured Souls pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jose Melendrez and Mancera each netted four Tattoo hits. Ryan Bell went 4-for-5, Roy Ramos 3-for-4 for the Bomb Squad.
Dr. Tile scored 14 runs in the fourth inning on the way to a 30-7 win over Temple Inland. Dave Keim hit two Tile homers. Martin Serrano and David Dover each scored twice for Temple Inland.
Gamers In Control turned back Dan Keith Septics 13-5 as both Gilbert Ramirez and Tony Martinez slapped a triple and two singles. A. J. Martinez added three Gamers singles. Tony Estrada went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Dan Keith Septics.

Cary O’Neal Roofing-California Silk Screening rallied for two runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 9-8 Co-Rec Winter B League win over Dequin’s Auto Body Sunday at Las Animas.
Eddie Wilson doubled and scored on an Anthony Corral two-out single to tie the score at 8-8 in the Roofer-Screener seventh. Angelica Garcia plated Corral with a double.
Greg Woodard and K. C. Adams each went 3-for-3 for the winners. Matt Hernandez hit a single, double and triple for Dequin’s Auto Body.
Joel Gaeta swatted two triples and Ruben Ramirez added a single, double and triple to guide All Out past Lights Out 10-5. Raul Garcia muscled four hits and Julian Castaneda added three singles for Lights Out.
