Michael Sherwood

HONORS: Tyler Sullivan: U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Tyler T. Sullivan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate’s degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Sullivan is the son of Roger T. Sullivan of Hollister and Heather A. Seynheave of Aptos, and is a 2010 graduate of Soquel High School.

Ravil Atlas
Ravil Alan Atlas II of Morgan Hill recently graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a master of music from the Division of Graduate Studies.
UNL awarded postgraduate degrees on May 9 and baccalaureate degrees on May 10 in ceremonies at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The College of Law conducted a separate ceremony on May 10 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The graduates are from 46 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and 37 countries.
Katelynn Thorpe
Katelynn Mae Thorpe recently graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in political economy and a minor in public policy.
Katelynn is a 2010 graduate of San Benito High School who while at Cal earned a 3.75 GPA. She received the California Alumni Association Leadership scholarship, the Sigma Kappa Foundation scholarship and was the President of the Sigma Kappa sorority. During her junior year, Katelynn studied international relations for six months in Bordeaux, France.
Katelynn has been accepted into the Teach for America program. She will be spending the next two years teaching at the Elementary level in Providence, R.I.
Cordero Gonzales
Cordero Gonzales, of Gilroy, was named to Eastern New Mexico University’s dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. To be eligible, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a GPA between 3.25 and 4.00.
Founded in 1934, Eastern New Mexico University is a state institution offering 91 associate, bachelor and master degree options.
Ashley Mammen
Ashley Mammen, of Morgan Hill, was awarded a bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences during Creighton University’s commencement ceremony at the CenturyLink Center Omaha. About 1,600 degrees were conferred.
Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., enrolls 4,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate and professional students among nine schools and colleges.

Megan Anders
Megan Anders, of Gilroy, was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Anders was initiated at University of Southern California.
