Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

A person said that a 36-year-old Gilroy man who that person had
previously been in an argument with aimed his moving car at him or
her, between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. May 28, near Calle Cielo Court
and Watsonville Road for aiming his moving car at a person with
whom he had previously engaged in an argument.
Sheriff’s arrests

Under the influence of controlled substance

David Carrillo, 26, of San Jose, 10:48 a.m. May 25, on the 1600 block of Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill for parole hold and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Furnishing alcohol to a minor

Noe Gonzalez Perez, 30, of Gilroy, 8:05 p.m. May 23, near Sycamore and San Martin avenues in San Martin.

Possession of methamphetamine

Rudolfo Martinez, 44, of Gilroy, 10:30 p.m. May 24, near Monterey Road and U.S. 101 for possession of methamphetamine and parole hold.

Assault and battery

Russell Leon Wharton, 24, of Gilroy, 7:33 p.m. May 21, on the 640 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Battery with bodily injury

John Jacob Wharton, 52, of Gilroy, 7:33 p.m. May 21, on the 640 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Auto theft

John Raymond Fregoso, 26, of Gilroy, 2:06 a.m. May 27, near Pacheco Pass Highway and Cameron Boulevard for theft of a 2007 silver Scion TC, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.

Other sheriff’s incidents

Shooting at inhabited dwelling

Three people were in their living room on the 1500 block of Gilman Road, 9:20 p.m. May 25, watching television when they heard gunshots. One round came through a wall.

Assault with a dangerous weapon

A person said that a 36-year-old Gilroy man who that person had previously been in an argument with aimed his moving car at him or her, between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. May 28, near Calle Cielo Court and Watsonville Road for aiming his moving car at a person with whom he had previously engaged in an argument.

Felony vandalism

The passenger door and window of a vehicle was dented and scratched, between 7 p.m. May 24 and 6:30 a.m. May 25, on the 14000 block of Water Avenue in San Martin.

Disobeying a court order

A person on the on the 13500 block of Colony Avenue in San Martin said that a 19-year-old Hollister man who that person had a restraining order against drove by and made offensive gestures, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 24,

Petty theft

A lock and chain were removed from a gated business, between 5 p.m. May 23 and 9:50 a.m. May 24, on the 8000 block of San Felipe Road. Sheriff’s deputies could not determine if the person who removed the lock and chain entered the business. Nothing was taken and the business was in the same condition as it was left.

A chain link fence and lock were cut and fuel estimated to be worth between $100 and $200 was stolen from a vehicle’s gas tank, between 9 p.m. May 23 and 5 a.m. May 24, on the 5900 block of Frazier Lake Road.

The windshield of a 1966 Chevy water truck was removed, between 5 p.m. June 9 and 8 a.m. June 11, at C&F Farms near Holsclaw Road and Dunlap Avenue. The windshield is valued at $200.

Harassing phone calls

A man on the 11900 block of De Paul Circle in San Martin said he was harassed on the phone multiple times by a 46-year-old San Jose woman, between 12 a.m. April 19 and 8:30 a.m. May 21, after he made repeated requests that she stop.

Burglary

Four locks on a cargo container holding tools were cut, between 4 p.m. June 5 and 8 p.m. June 12, on the 900 block of East San Martin Avenue in San Martin. No items were stolen from the containers.

The cash register in the Gavilan College food court was stolen, between 11 p.m. June 10 and 7 a.m. June 11. Cash totaling $700 was in the register at the time.

Commercial burglary

The lock sealing a roll-up door of a flower stand on the 15000 block of Sunnyside Avenue in Morgan Hill was cut between 6 p.m. June 10 and 10 a.m. June 11. Flowers, vases and fruit valued at $100 were stolen from inside the business.

A large piece of asphalt was used to break a window at the Grass Farm sales office near Palm and Dougherty avenues in Morgan Hill, between 6 p.m. June 9 and 4:25 June 10. Nothing was taken from the business.

Stolen vehicle

A 1993 black Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen, between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. June 10, near Bolsa and Bloomfield. The owner had engine problems and left the motorcycle on the shoulder of the road to find help at a nearby gas station. When he returned, his motorcycle was gone.
