MORGAN HILL – The South Bay Alliance, is proud to present as its first event, a Rib Feed by Jesse of Betsy’s Restaurant to benefit ChildSpree.

ChildSpree is a $100 back-to-school clothing shopping spree for the children most in need. This event is co-sponsored by Mervyn’s Morgan Hill. Mervyn’s provides backpacks, a 10 percent discount on all ChildSpree purchases during the event, and its store and employees for two hours to allow the children to shop for new school clothes.

Each year, the goal is to provide clothing for 200 children.

The Rib Feed will be held in conjunction with the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center’s free summer concert Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Performing at this event will be Dave Barrett’s School of Blues, featuring John Garcia in the outdoor amphitheater.

A minimum $10 donation each for a rib dinner includes: those mouth-watering, oft requested ribs by Jesse, baked beans, Jesse’s one-of-a-kind garlic bread and a green salad.

Beverages also will be available for purchase. The barbeque will be set up in the parking lot so you can even drive up and pick up your rib dinner, but you’d miss the concert.

We invite you to purchase your tickets in advance, as only a limited number will be available at the event. Tickets may be purchased at Betsy’s Restaurant, Cochrane Storage, San Pedro Storage, Jody’s Junction, Heritage Bank or the MH Community Center (ask for Laura).

To reserve tickets by phone, call 776-2792 (mesage phone) or 776-3222 (for a live voice).

The MH Community & Cultural Center is located at 17000 Monterey Road at the corner of Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Checks for donations should be made payable to:

South Bay Alliance – ChildSpree, P.O. Box 1179, Morgan Hill, CA 95038

Community members also are invited to volunteer as a chaperone for a child on Aug. 9 at the ChildSpree event. Chaperones help the children navigate the store and select new school clothes. Please phone one of the above numbers to volunteer. Details www.YourMorganHill.com/ChildSpree.
