The South Valley’s most anticipated flower sale takes place Saturday from 8am to 1pm at Goldsmith Seeds in Gilroy. The world-renown wholesale flower breeder will offer thousands of bedding plants at its annual Gilroy Rotary Club fund-raiser. Everything from asters to zinnias will be featured. The flowers were grown for Goldsmith’s annual Spring Pack Trials, which more than a thousand customers from throughout the world attend. When the customers leave, Goldsmith opens its greenhouses for this once-a-year event. Last year, nearly $50,000 was raised for the Gilroy Rotary Club’s community programs. Goldsmith Seeds is located at 2280 Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy. Bring a wagon, cart or sturdy bags to carry your purchases. Bring cash because no credit cards will be accepted.
