Dear editor,
This Saturday May 3, 2014 the American Legion Gilroy Post #217 will be sponsoring a Veterans Community Outreach for the benefit of all veterans. This event is not limited to local veterans only but to all who have served their country.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building here in Gilroy at 74 West Sixth St. The following providers among many, will be present.A medical team from the Palo Alto VA for enrollments as well as examinations, the Santa Cruz County Mobil Vet Center providing readjustment counseling for combat veterans and their families, PTSD, military sexual trauma and more. We will have veterans service officers to discuss VA benefits, claims, education assistance. We will also provide a job fair for possible employment opportunities. There will be representatives from various community organizations including Catholic Charities, EHC Life Builders from the Boccardo Reception Center, Hope Services, Gavilan College veterans programs and many more.
This event will be helpful in providing much needed information for all of our veterans and we encourage all who served and family members to attend this free event.
