Hooray! We made it to another December! Covid appears to be dropping further and further behind, not unlike Cycle Guy on a group ride. Still, let’s all remember to stay vigilant, be wise, care for ourselves and others…and ride on!
According to the latest intel from Facebook, Critical Christmas is a go for Dec. 17 in Monterey, rain permitting. Please confirm this first, then be sure to tape as many holiday lights and gaudy decorations as possible onto your two-wheeled steed. Show up at the Custom House Plaza by 6pm.
If you can’t make it to Monterey, consider bundling up the family, strapping the brightest head and taillights onto your bikes, and then take a holiday lights tour of your own.
Twelve “Spoking My Mind” months ago, I expounded upon the idea of purchasing a bicycle for that certain cycling someone. This year, I again suggest that you visit your local bike shop, this time to pick up cycle accessories! The are so many cool things (lights, rear-view mirrors, backpacks, bar tapes, woolen socks, beanies, toe covers, lubes, nutrition bars, gels, cleaning kits and gift cards) that you are sure to find something awesome in every possible price range.
In closure, I count all you readers as special gifts all year round! And one more thing. After all, it’s a December Cycle Guy tradition:
I wish you a Happy Hanukkah,
I wish you a Special Kwanzaa,
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
and a Happy New Gear!
