Miguel Alcantar fills in a hole around a freshly planted tree at
the new Gilroy Sports Park. Construction of the $10.7-million
sports park began last March. The first of nine phases of the
project are expected to last through July 2006 and will include the
installation of three baseball diamonds, a soccer/football field,
and playground areas.
