Gilroy High’s baseball program will host its fourth annual First Pitch Dinner and Silent Auction on Feb. 9.

The No. 8 seeded Gilroy softball team pounded 11 hits on their way to a 7-1 victory over Willow Glen in the opening round of the Central Coast Section playoffs Wednesday.

Hanna Tabron poured in 23 points to help Christopher’s girls basketball team open Monterey Bay League play with a 52-43 home win over North Salinas on Thursday night.

Lauren Castro pitched a complete game with three strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Gilroy High’s softball team to a 4-1 win at Oak Grove on Tuesday.

Anchored by freshman Lauren Castro’s no-hitter, the Gilroy High softball team defeated Alisal 10-0 in five innings in the Tri-County Athletic League opener Thursday in Gilroy.

Last-minute free throws lifted Christopher to a 66-64 win over Monterey Wednesday at home.

The Christopher track team will host a pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Nov. 15 at the school's dining commons.

The Christopher girls golf team was holding its breath as the final scores were tallied. A collective sigh of relief could be heard as the Cougars (6-0) won their closest match of the year, a 283-290 win over Salinas at home Monday. Christopher Natalie Gutierrez and Salinas High's Madison Chapman tied for medalist honors, both shooting a 47. Gutierrez and Chapman both had multiple pars in the match. Nina Velez shot a 54 for the Cougars, while Alex Granados shot a personal best of 57.  Christopher will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pacific Grove.
