Four Gilroy High wrestlers earned individual titles, one took the state’s No. 1-ranked 132-pounder to the brink of upset in the evening’s marquee finale, and the Mustangs won their first team championship since 2008 on another memorable Mid Cals night under the spotlight Saturday.

Emmanuel Salcedo was instramental for the Christopher boys volleyball team this season, leading it to back-to-back playoff berths. The senior outside hitter, who coach Karrie Gonzalez called her “MVP” after the team's last game, was recognized with three Monterey Bay All-League honors Tuesday.
