Gilroy girls equipped with mix of newcomers and veteran leadership

The Gilroy High girls varsity soccer team has won five straight Tri-County Athletic League championships with a combined league record of 51-2-7. The Mustangs last loss in league came in the season finale of 2008.

Scott schooled us in picks last week, finishing with an 8-1 overall record. Emanuel was close behind at 7-2 and Nathan finished third at 6-3. Cheeto came in fourth place going 5-4 and Erin brought up the rear with a 4-5 overall pick.

JUCO Baseball: Hawks score 4 in ninth to top Gavilan in Game 1

GILROY—It was a back and forth game between Gavilan and Cosumnes River in the CCCAA Northern California Regional Playoffs opener. If one team got a hit, the other would answer. A big defensive play by either side was matched in the next inning. Neither team could gain the edge—until the top of the ninth inning, that is.
