The Christopher lacrosse team is off to a red hot start. 

The Gilroy Browns football and cheer program is hosting open registration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Gilroy High Student Center.

Looking at the teams in this week’s sixth annual Bulldog Chase, some might find it hard to believe Sobrato coach Lee Washington put it together at the last minute. The three-day boys basketball tournament tips off with four games Tuesday, starting at 3 p.m. at Sobrato High School. Each one will feature at least one team that reached the Central Coast Section playoffs last year.

Last year, the Gilroy High softball team got hot at the right time to surprise even themselves in winning the program’s fourth Central Coast Section championship. This season, the Mustangs will more than likely have a big target on their back as they are off...
