New Orleans pianist and composer Scott Kirby will play his last South Valley concert at Advent Lutheran Church in Morgan Hill before relocating to France.
The acclaimed ragtime pianist will present a program that includes classical, new ragtime, early jazz, boogie and blues music.
Kirby’s selections include pieces by pioneers in syncopation, such as Scott Joplin and Joseph Lamb, Ernesto Nazareth and Jelly Roll Morton. He is also influenced by modern composers and will include some of his own compositions.
The concert will take place at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy in Morgan Hill. Tickets are $18 for general admission, $16 for seniors 65 and over, and $6 for students under 18. For more information, call (408) 779-2959 or (925) 240-99728. Doors open at 6:45pm.
