St. Mary School students observed the International Day of Peace on Tuesday, by planting about 250 pinwheels along First and Church streets surrounding St. Mary School. Students viewed the pinwheels they made at home and at school Tuesday morning following their morning assembly. St. Mary School’s theme this year is “Give Peace A Chance.” The Pinwheels for Peace Project, an art installation project started in 2005 by two art teachers in Florida, estimates that last year 3 million pinwheels were spinning around the world.
