Dear editor,
Just back from a great event at Station 55. This was their first tasting experience for craft beer lovers, representatives from four breweries gave samples of their beers; Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Speakeasy, and Firestone-Walker. From their descriptions, it would be easy to think they were introducing fine wines … except these are fine beers with subtle qualities of flavor and aroma. They invoked a sense of hops, coriander, citrus and more.  I was amazed at all the variations, with something for every taste.
On top of the great beers, Station 55 served up great food and service.
There were three distinct dips for pretzels, specially made by the Master Chef, Mark. One of our group couldn’t wait to have Station 55’s Cobb Salad; a week ago he got a taste of my husband’s salad and knew he had to have one of his own, definitely big enough for a full meal.
The staff and owners were personable and added a lot to the event. We were told there’s a plan to hold a similar beer-tasting once every three months. This is something you should not miss.
Sincerely,
Kathy Laursen
