Breana Orozco

Each month, the principals of Gilroy and Christopher high schools choose a total of four students (two from GHS and two from CHS) to spotlight. CHS senior Breana Louise Orozco, 17, is this week’s Student of the Week.

What inspires you? The miracles that happen everyday, waking up every morning healthy and the beautiful smiles received daily from the staff and students at CHS. The beautiful people that surround me with love, who believe in me and push me to grow as a person and and pursue my dreams. My family who always finds a way to make sure I can persevere through any circumstance, to continue to grow into a young lady.

What is your favorite subject in school, and why? ASB/ leadership because I am around many different personalities shaping me into a strong individual. I will make a difference by leading and befriending all people  who come into my life. I will make a difference even it is just one person who I help by bringing ease into their life situations.

If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be? I would change the way people judge one another. Every person deserves to have their own opinion, passion and love without being judged or looked down upon. That’s why we are individuals, with different DNA allowing us to be the person we desire to be.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Back in time so I can show my family that I do love them and want only the best for them.

Name one big challenge in your life right now: Learning how to forgive and let go of the pain but never forget. Learning how to change the negative situations into a positive life lesson.

What is your dream job? My dream job is working on the President of the United States Cabinet. To get there, I will be a lawyer who will be the advocate for the children who have unfortunate circumstances in their homes but want a better future for themselves.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things could you not live without? All of my family, because they are my motivation. Music because I love to dance, chasing  away all of my negative feelings. My Higher power who will continue to strengthen me, so as soon as we leave the island I can continue to be the person he has planned for me to be.

Favorite book: “Always Running” by Luis Rodriguez.

Something that makes you smile: My beautiful siblings: Journie Marie, Isaiah Christopher and Deja Capri.
