Kiran Brar

What inspires you?
My parents. Their stories, their hardships, and their commitment to continually support my brother and me in every aspect of our lives inspire me daily.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
I absolutely love math and find biology fascinating.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
I would promote a society where everyone could accept each other and look past each other’s differences. Even today, the welfare of humanity is continually threatened by institutionalized prejudice and pervasive bigotry; however, we could weaken these obstacles by actively spreading awareness of our beliefs and cultures because bigotry is stemmed from ignorance.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I would go to Punjab, India, a region where most of Sikh history took place.
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
Achieving my full potential and becoming the person I aspire to be.
What is your dream job?
My dream career is being a fashion designer.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things could you not live without?
My daily Sikh prayers, food and contact with the outside world.
Favorite book:
The Hot Zone by Richard Preston
What do you want to do after high school?
I plan to attend a four-year university to attain a double major in biomedical engineering and philosophy.
Something that makes you smile:
Continual support and positivity of my classmates
