Benito County over the last 10 years.

Vanni Properties, Inc. and its predecessor Vanni Properties have been active in the real estate development business as well as in the relocation of job producing business from the north to San Benito County over the last 10 years. I’m writing on behalf of Vanni Properties, Inc. because we believe it is both pre-mature and irresponsible for the board of supervisors to make a decision about the California Valley Miwok Project before they have fully reviewed the facts and analyzed the benefits and impacts.
If my business had prejudged San Benito County, we may not have developed 56,000 square feet of property and sales tax-producing facilities in the county nor encouraged one of our partners to relocate their 50-plus-employee business from San Jose to San Benito County.
It is discouraging to see a board that is charged with the public trust make a hasty decision about a project that will bring great economic development. I also wonder what motivated you to announce in one meeting the need for a thorough review process and then shortly thereafter reverse course.
I am an active business owner in San Benito County and the recent actions by the Board of Supervisors make me think twice about conducting additional business ventures in the county. I’m sure it also sends a warning signal to many others. Let’s face it, the county is in financial distress and has a high unemployment rate. Supervisors have a responsibility to constituents and local businesses to review without prejudice any and all real proposals brought before them.
