Dear Editor,

As I read the article regarding the 27-inch flat screen television for the homeless shelter, I quickly realized I was reading satire equal to Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal.”

I offer as my modest contribution to the cause, my used copy of “Ishtar.”

The thought of the joy it will bring to these unfortunate cold, wet and hungry people is almost to much to bear. Please tell me that the letter “Breakfast at the Alter Ego …” was in jest because if it wasn’t, I will laugh until I cry.

Your faithful reader,

Kathy Cleveland, Gilroy
