DEAR EDITOR:
I read the article by Denise Baer Apuzzo in the April 24th Dispatch. First I laughed. Then I got angry. I then realized that she just doesn’t know very much about the Bible’s teachings or about Christians.
Our church (South Valley Community) is not trying to steal members from other churches. Our church is doing what is commanded by Jesus in Mark 16 verse 15.
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
You state that we have thousands of people here in Gilroy that are not members of South Valley Church. Do you realize that we have thousands of people who are not members of any church? Thousands of people who are not saved and do not know Jesus as their personal savior? We are not low key when it comes to telling others about the love of Jesus. Read Luke 14 verse 15 The Parable of the Lost Sheep, and try to be happy that we care about “The Lost Sheep.”
