“Top Ten Reasons Mayor Tom Springer needs to pull election papers” or “How Gilroy benefits from four more years of Springerism”:
10. His foot-in-mouth disease provides the city attorney full employment opportunities and increased job security.
9. He has given new meaning to the term “consensus” builder; it’s called Springerism-builder.
8. He has inured himself to the city staffers, a real go-getter megalomaniac team leader.
7. His method of “getting the job done” eliminates the need for a democratic process, to wit, the Springer “minority” report.
6. He puts the police and fire department to shame, by managing to show up at the scene before they do.
5. The city could defer building the Northwest Quad fire station for another four years by counting his presence at the scene as beating the 5-minute response time.
4. 911 police and fire call costs can be reduced or eliminated, just call him for help instead (the city could issue him his own gun and fire hose).
3. He has created a new job for the police, to wit a policeman at the last city council meeting I attend. Prior to Springerism, when was the last time the City Council required police presence?
2. He makes it easier for City Manager Jay Baksa to justify his highfalutin salary for such a small city.
And, the number one reason Springer needs to pull papers …
