Tour Goldsmith Display Beds

Gilroy – Since Spring, a series of popular gardening programs has been taking place at the Gilroy Library in conjunction with the Master Gardeners. In August, Goldsmith Seeds is hosting a special event for top landscapers from around the nation, and the company has redesigned its display beds.

The gardening group has been invited on a special tour to preview the display beds at Goldsmith Seeds. The tour is lead by Jeannine Bogard, the Goldsmith Seeds market analyst.

To join, meet in the Goldsmith Seeds parking lot off Hecker Pass Highway at 6:30pm Wednesday. Bring water and a hat.

Enjoy Coffee and Christian Music

Buy A Book, Raise Cash for Rebekah’s

Gilroy – In an effort to raise funds for Rebekah Children’s Services, the nonprofit has partnered with Yvonne Drew author of “Today I Was Adopted.” Their goal is to sell 1,000 books. Proceeds benefit Rebekah Children’s Services. The deadline for purchase is July 31.

PCAG Meets Twice in August

San Martin – The Perchlorate Community Advisory Group meets from 2 to 4pm Friday, Aug. 3, at the San Martin Lion Club Hall, 12415 Murphy Ave. (across from the airport) in San Martin. A second meeting will be held from 7 to 9pm Thursday, Aug. 30 at the same location.

Audition for ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’

Gilroy – South Valley Civic Theatre will conduct auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace. The first are Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. Check in at 6:30pm, auditions begin at 7pm. Check in time for Sunday Aug. 3 audition is 1:30pm with auditions beginning at 2pm. Call backs (if necessary) will be Monday, Aug. 6. Be prepared to read from the script or perform a monologue of choice.

Auditions will be held at the South Valley Civic Theatre Warehouse, 8565 Monterey Road. The show will open Sept. 14 and run four weekends with performances Friday and Saturday evenings each week and matinees Sunday Sept. 23 and Sunday Oct. 7 in the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse.

‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ Hits the Stage

Gilroy – The City of Gilroy Community Services Department presents John Bisceglie’s “Shake, Rattle & Roll,” the ultimate 1950s and ’60s musical reunion. The show featured more than 109 local youth and adults.

The show runs Aug 3 through 17. Aug. 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30pm. Aug. 5 and 12 at 1 and 5pm.

Performances will be held at South Valley Middle School, 385 IOOF Ave.
