Officers call FBI when pictures of Anderson Dam appear on
mysterious traveler’s camera
Morgan Hill – Morgan Hill Police officials decided to err on the side of caution over the weekend when they called in the FBI about a suspicious man inside the security fence of the police station on Vineyard Boulevard.

The incident began Saturday night when the man, who police say is a foreign national, was discovered inside the security fence.

“He had a camera, and no ID, and we brought him inside,” said MHPD Cmdr. Terrie Booten. “The camera had 88 pictures of Anderson Dam, so the FBI were called in as a precaution.”

Although the agents took the man’s information, he was not arrested nor cited, Booten said.

“It turns out he was a tourist who got a ride to the station, didn’t understand how to get into the lobby after hours to speak with anyone, saw the gate opening as an officer left the enclosure and went inside, looking for another door,” she said.

The man did not seem to mean any harm, Booten said, he was just confused. The pictures of the dam looked odd at first, she added, but were pictures that a tourist might take.

“It was interesting,” she said, “but not a problem once we sorted things out.”
