St. Mary School Cupcakes Brighten Seniors’ Day

Eighth graders at St. Mary School baked and decorated more than 150 cupcakes on March 30 and delivered them to the residents of Wheeler Manor. They even delivered cupcakes door to door at the residence community for those who were unable to make it to the dining room.

Getting Out: Mukuntuweap or Zion

Would you rather visit Mukuntuweap National Monument or Zion National Monument? In fact, they are the same place. As I researched the origin of the name of Zion National Park (originally a National Monument), I was certain I would find a story related to the history of Mormon settlement in southern Utah. To my surprise, in 1918, the acting director of the National Park Service changed the name from Mukuntuweap to Zion simply for marketing reasons. He felt that the Zion National Park name would draw more visitors.

‘Evita’: A look at history

In London in 1976, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice released an album of a show that would be called “Evita.” By early 1977, the album took the world by storm and when “Evita” premiered in London in June 1978, everyone was humming "Don't Cry For Me Argentina."
