Through three matches of Coast Conference South action for the Gavilan College women’s volleyball team, it has been sweep or be swept.
On Wednesday night in San Jose, the Rams were on the positive side of that coin, taking care of host West Valley in straight sets 25-16, 30-28, 25-12.
The win comes on the heels of a 3-0 loss to Ohlone, which was preceded by a 3-0 victory against Foothill. All of that creates a four-team tie (Ohlone, Foothill and Chabot the others) at the top of the South standings.
Kayce Skocko and Jessica Stofer both found space for six kills for the Rams (11-8 overall, 2-1 conference), and Tazi Apple added four kills and three blocks. Sabina Gerard had another double-double with 19 assists and 13 digs, while Kayondra Hood and Skocko both racked up 23 digs
Gavilan travels to Skyline College on Friday. Skyline is winless in three South matches this season.
