A volunteer search and rescue crew searches thick brush surrounding Calero Reservoir along McKean Road looking for any evidence in the disappearance of Sierra LaMar.

Hundreds of people from all over the South Bay and points farther south showed to volunteer Tuesday morning for the search for Sierra LaMar, 15, who was reported missing from her north Morgan Hill home March 16.

Police have found few leads in the case, and Sierra’s mother, Marlene LaMar, called the KlaasKids Foundation to organize a search effort which is headquartered at Burnett Elementary School, 85 Tilton Ave.

As of about 10 a.m., more than 280 people already registered to assist in the search, which entails the combing of wooded areas in search of any evidence or sign of LaMar’s previous or current whereabouts.
