Dear Editor,

A man named Marty who lives in Gilroy found my wallet I had lost in the Campbell Post Office parking lot and dropped it off at my house. I would like to thank him.

I didn’t get to thank you in person so writing this letter to the local newspaper is the only way I can think of doing it.

When you dropped off my wallet, I was at my Tai Chi class. All I know is that you’re an interior designer, you work in San Jose and live in Gilroy and you went out of your way to find my house and return my wallet. I went back to the post office to let them know about my returned wallet. Your action made other people feel good, not just me – the worker at the post office station, the customer who overheard me tell the story, my Tai Chi classmates and my sister in Washington.

So thank you Marty. If I find someone’s wallet, I’ll be doing just what you did.
