DEAR EDITOR:

Workers beware!

According to recent news articles, much energy is being expended in an attempt to discredit Gilroy First!, in part because of suspected union ties.

I don’t understand the anti-union, anti-worker mentality and I don’t understand the hostility directed toward the unions and their members. I am suspicious of the City Council members and their supporters who are anti-labor.

In addition, a writer in Friday’s Dispatch editorials cited “livable wage, open space, and smart growth” as undesirable attributes for our city. But I submit that these are the very things that make Gilroy a desirable place to live and raise a family. Take away these qualities of life and we will be left with nothing but traffic and smog.

A vote for Lupe Arellano, Paul Correa, Peter Arellano, and Bruce Morasca will help to ensure our quality of life is preserved.

John Zingrich, Gilroy
