Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Gilroy Police Department Neighborhood Resource Unit, we wish to thank the following agencies that helped to make our Community Policing outreach event “Santa At San Ysidro Park” a great success. First to our Creator who blessed us with a window of great weather sunny and clear afternoon. That itself was a miracle since it has been raining for the last 10 days.
Next we would like to recognize the many Gilroy Community Based Organizations who donated treats and who continuously support all of our community outreach events: Community Foundation Of Silicon Valley, Community Solutions, ESO/CAUSA/ Gilroy Family Resource Center, MACSA, Santa Clara District Attorney Office, Santa Clara Gilroy Restorative Justice Program, IOOF & San Ysidro Neighborhood Associations, Rogers Lane Neighborhood Association, Gilroy Fire Department, Gilroy Police Department K-9 Officers, Mounted Unit Officers, Gilroy Volunteers in Policing, and all the other volunteers who made this event another great success.
A special appreciation goes to Diamond Advertising who fashioned the Santa At The Park event with a colorful and festive banner. Lastly, we are very grateful to both Robert and Sue Baker who for the last seven years have closed their business for the afternoon in order to spend it with the kids of the community who proudly have their pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Once more, thanks to all of the collaborative partners that continuously support making community outreach a top priority! This again is what makes Gilroy a special place to live. The Gilroy Police Department wishes everybody a Safe Holiday Season!
