Good Samaritan saves life
On Sunday morning, Nov. 30, I lay on the ground unconscious at Christmas Hill Park suffering from a heart attack. Of all things, I left my cell phone home. My wife began screaming for help and a Good Samaritan, with a young child, came to our rescue. He called 911 and the ambulance took me to Kaiser in San Jose. This one act of kindness probably saved my life.
I don’t know who you are, but I will be forever thankful.

Alley trash is spreading
On Sept. 19 I received a letter from Mr. Scott Barron, enforcement officer from the Community Development Department, that someone complained about the accumulation of garbage in the alley behind my property.
I answered his letter and thanked the person who complained, and let him know that I have also complained about it. I let him know that the accumulation of garbage does NOT belong to me.
It belongs to the family that lives on Eigleberry Street; the problem is behind their house. Well, nothing has been done about it, the garbage is in the same place and spreading.
Mayor Don Gage and councilmembers want Gilroy to be a nice, clean place. Hope they pay attention to the alleys and streets.

Banks are at it once again
In 2008 the banks almost collapsed the American economy when they took our money and gambled it away at the Wall Street casino trading derivatives. As part of the recovery, Congress passed laws to prevent the banks from doing the same thing again. Now Citibank slipped a law into the budget package that allows banks to do it again.
Banks can now gamble with our deposits, our savings, our pensions and if they lose, the taxpayer is stuck with the bill. And this time they just legalized the stealing. America, as a nation, is on the verge of committing suicide. And we have to do this so members of Congress can be home for Christmas. Where is the outrage?

Congress doesn’t care about us
Prosecute Jamie Dimon and members of Congress for criminal corruption.
As usual money trumps the will, and needs, of the American people. Shame on all those, from any party, that use their office for financial gain. I am used to it from Republicans, but it seems Democrats are now just as bad.
Robert Muncrief, Gilroy
