GILROY—Missed opportunities defined the game for Gavilan on Saturday night. Every chance the Rams had to reach the endzone ended in a disaster as they fell 40-2 to Reedley at Christopher High.
GILROY—Looking at the stats from Gavilan’s game against Yuba, it’s hard to see where it went wrong. The Rams outdid Yuba offensively, racking up 382 yards to the 49ers’ 353. They had more yards in the air—284 to 151—and less penalties, drawing only five flags to Yuba’s 11.
MARYSVILLE—When it comes to statistics, Gavilan beat Yuba in almost every category of Saturday’s contest. Unfortunately for the Rams, they came up short on the scoreboard.
QUINCY—Gavilan went 0-2 at the Feather River College Classic Saturday in Quincy.
Gavilan left Sacramento with a split decision. The Rams lost 3-1 to Sacramento City but rebounded with a sweep of Lassen Tuesday at the Sacramento City College Classic.
GILROY—If a few things went differently, Gavilan could’ve secured its first win on Sept. 12. One less penalty or fumble, one more completion or tackle and the Rams might’ve headed home victorious. Instead, they fell 32-29 to Mendocino at Christopher High. And coach Mike Dovenberg is determined not to let that happen again.
GILROY—Gavilan finished 1-3 at the Delta College Classic Saturday after facing some tough competition.
FAIRFIELD—Gavilan talked a lot about cohesiveness prior to the season and on Friday, the Rams put their words into action.
REDDING—Gavilan dropped its 2015 season opener 56-6 at Shasta College Saturday. The loss was due in part to too many penalties and not enough yards.
GILROY—In life, things can happen quickly—and Gavilan’s Albert Medrano, knows this all too well.
