DEAR EDITOR:
There is reason to celebrate in Gilroy. Gilroy has a bookstore! Michelle Campbell has opened up a new, modern, customer-oriented bookstore at Santa Teresa and First Street. The Wize Owl Bookstore and Gifts, had its grand opening, ribbon-cutting on Jan. 18, and visitors that day feasted on delicious hors d’ouvres and local wines. Let it be said that visitors also feasted on food for the soul, and interest and excitement was infectious.
Michelle has not fully stocked the store; she’s waiting to see what the Gilroy community seeks. Nevertheless, the store is replete with fiction, non-fiction, travel, and children’s books. Much more is to come. Help celebrate an enterprise Gilroy has truly needed for many years. And let’s make The Wize Owl a literary and cultural center in our town.
