Dear Editor,
I’m writing in regards to the outpouring of the community for the family of Jeramy Ailes on the day of the funeral.
At the service it was nice to see staff from Gilroy Unified, especially Principal Bob Bravo (my brother for life), Mr. Santos and many other staff members. Also in attendance were people all from all over the community from Gilroy Health and Fitness employees, to many students both former and current of Gilroy High.
It was nice to see Gilroy’s Finest Police Department at the corner of First and Santa Teresa standing at attention with lights on the patrol car surrounded by the many people that embraced the cold and lined the streets like Gilroy Fire Department Mario Bena who stood at attention with a large American flag.
To the Ailes family: Your son is a hero and he will always be for the city of Gilroy for letting us back here in the states enjoy our freedom. It’s nice to see a community come together for this. Be proud Gilroy.
