The Gavilan College women’s volleyball team survived some inconsistencies on the road at Monterey Peninsula College, prevailing 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 12-25, 26-24) on Wednesday night.

Emily Tonascia anchored Gavilan with 13 kills, while Kayce Skocko added 10. Melissa Avila, Brittany Lewis and Alyssa Brusaschetti combined for 33 assists. Avry Walker contributed 21 digs.

Gavilan plays host to West Valley College on Friday with first serve scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Rams dispatched the Vikings in straight sets in the teams’ previous meeting Sept. 30.
