Catamount Productions, the drama club at Christopher High School, is sponsoring a theatre summer camp for students in the third through eighth  grades.

Camp Catamount will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 10 at CHS, located at 850 Day Rd. in Gilroy. The cost of the program is $200 with a $50 discount for each additional child enrolled from the same family.

The camp will focus on theatre games, acting basics, character development and performance skills. Unlike the STAR program at Gavilan College, Camp Catamount will not produce a traditional staged play. Rather, students will be guided in the creation of original performance material. Participants will work collaboratively and utilize improvisation to create skits, comedy pieces and their own versions of familiar folk and fairy tales. The emphasis will be on building skills and fostering creative thinking in a supportive, fun and educational environment.
