Dear Editor,

In retrospect, I apologize for my comments concerning two respected women and their opinions in this column recently. You know who you are. Please accept my apology.

Many hardworking individuals work at the homeless shelter for the benefit of people in life transitions. They deserve our support and respect.

Many women and children attend the shelter and many people of genuine need are there and are trying to better themselves. I agree a helping hand, not a handout, is what is needed.

In the giving, it’s the spirit which we offer help that matters most.

Can we agree to help the needy, without bickering or criticism, in our own individual way, with a good and loving heart?
