Dear Editor,

As much as I hate to admit it, Lisa Pampuch (Aug. 30) is right: Bob Kraemer’s statement, “We really have no indicator that we have a substantial difference of docents this year from last year'” addressing the removal of the Bonfante volunteer, is a joke and par for the Kraemer course. He issued pap like this during his one, miserable term on the Gilroy Unified School District Board, particularly when his first tax hike failed.

I don’t know volunteer Marie Ziegel, nor the circumstances (or, apparently, politics) out at Bonfante. But I can say, especially with Kraemer on board, this sounds sooooooo typical Gilroy!

No matter how well you do or how many years you have put in, if you question local authority – and I can personally testify that this goes for the Garlic Festival clique, the Bonfante clique (and it is most definitely a clique if Kraemer is a part of it), and even individuals like the imperial Dispatch editor or a certain hobbled, self-proclaimed patriot – they will do their best to trash you, and do it best behind your back, with utmost cowardice.

For my kids and all the local youth, I hope Bonfante Gardens is a success; with Kraemer helping run things, it’s a miracle it has survived this long.

Alan Viarengo, Gilroy
