Hill.
Affordable Roofing & Solar, owned by local businesswoman Pamela Garcia, has been named the Woman-Owned Business of the Year Award in Morgan Hill. The award is given by Women’s Initiative for self-employment and recognizes women-owned Bay Area businesses.
The WOB Award recognizes these women entrepreneurs and their businesses for their leadership and positive contributions to their communities. Garcia was recognized at the Woman-Owned Business of the Year Awards ceremony Nov. 10.
Chamber elects four new board members
The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce selected four new board members. They will begin their four-year term Jan. 1, 2010. The new members are Kristina Chavez Wyatt, senior account executive for Meridan Pacific; Dr. David Matuszak, director of the Santa Clara County Regional Occupational Program – South; Julie Alter, recycling coordinator for Recology; and Eric Howard, owner of Bruce’s Tire. Inc.
