An online questionnaire asking residents and visitors everything from where they like to shop or what new business they’d like to see in Gilroy ended Tuesday, City Administrator Thomas Haglund said, but the results won’t be released just yet.

A steering committee now will take the next several weeks to pore over the data, drawn from 979 people who completed the survey, Haglund said.

The committee comprised of Mayor Al Pinheiro, City Councilwoman Cat Tucker, Councilman Bob Dillon, Gilroy Visitor’s Bureau Executive Director Jane Howard and Gilroy Chamber of Commerce President Susan Valenta.

“They’re working to get it all together,” Haglund said.

The committee will release the results “sometime in March,” Haglund said, possibly either at the Council’s March 7 or March 28 meeting.

“The results hopefully will help the city work at developing a broader understanding about Gilroy itself,” Haglund said. “Discover ways to further attract people in our community.”
