Gilroy Police are investigating the first homicide of 2017. Here’s their press release:
On November 29, 2017, at 4:34 p.m., officers from the Gilroy Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the 7500 block of Alexander Street. When officers arrived, they located a 32-year-old male victim outside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses stated he was in a verbal altercation with another male subject moments before the shooting.
Emergency personnel performed life-saving measures but he was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased victim is being withheld until proper notification can be made to family members.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes appropriate. This is the 1st homicide in the City of Gilroy this year.
The Investigations Bureau is asking anyone who may have seen the shooting or has any knowledge of the shooting to call Detective Eric Cryar at (408) 846-0335. Callers may remain anonymous.
