The Rangers and Diamondbacks took home wins in Gilroy Little
League’s Boys Minors play Monday while the Mets beat the cross-town
rival Yankees in Boys Jr. action.
Rangers 12, A’s 3
The Rangers defeated the A’s in Gilroy Little League Boys Minors play by a score of 12-3 Monday.
Pitcher Makio Duyao recorded 5 strikeouts for the Rangers while Anthonee Bartholic and Justin Soseman combined for three strikeouts in relief.
The Ranger’s offense was led by Dominic Bettencourt with two singles followed by Bartholic with a lone triple. Duyao, Mateo Martinez, and Justin Soseman all recorded singles as well
The A’s offense was led by Braydon Riendl with a triple and Tiago Costa with a double, and Paul Garcia and Dallas Wilson each recorded a hit.
Defensively, the A’s received seven strikeouts from four different pitchers: Sean VanWoerkom, Cameron Woodard, Wilson and Garcia.
Diamondbacks 12, Phillies 7
The Diamondbacks beat the Phillies 12-7 in Boys Minors play Monday.
Dillon McFarland and Kevin Krulee led the D’Backs offense with two hits each, followed by singles by Caleb Bousfield and Anthony Fortino.
The D’Backs defense was led by pitchers Krulee with six strikeouts and Fortino, who closed out the game with three K’s.
The Phillies’ offense was led by Larry Chacon with a double, and singles by Adrian Rivera, Anthony Valdez, and Ben Reeder.
Reeder, Rivera and Anthony Silva totaled six strikeouts pitching for the Phillies.
Mets 10, Yankees 2
The Mets beat the cross-town rival Yankees 10-2 in Boys Jr. play Monday.
The Mets’ offense was led by Brandon Irby and Alex Maroudas, collecting three hits each, and Brandon Pickens had two hits followed by singles from Patrick Mank, Zac Vavoulis, and Elliot Vancil-Ventura.
The Mets’ defense was led by pitcher Zac Vavoulis.
The Yankees’ offense was led by Justin Nelson, who recorded a triple and a single, and Patrick Valdez, Taz Talamonte, and John Riffle, who all recorded a hit each. Defensively, the Yankees were led by pitcher Patrick Valdez with seven strikeouts.
