Taura B. L. Watts

Taura Bea Louise Watts, a.k.a. Tybet, passed away at her home in San Martin from cancer at the age of 65. Her father and brother, Maurice Sr. and Jr., preceded her in death. Her mother, Mazie Peterson, and brothers Dave Watts and Gregg Peterson survive her. She was a technical secretary for 20 years, but devoted her life to helping others, loving her animals, and enjoying her friends. A memorial service was held at Gavilan Hills Church in San Martin on June 28th.

Aurora C. Torres

Aurora C. Torres passed away in Hollister at the age of 88 years. Aurora was a native of San Bernardino, CA and has resided in Hollister with her family for he last 10 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a homemaker all her adult life. Her interests were cooking, sewing, listening to music, and watching the boxing matches and soccer games from Mexico on television. She was the spouse of the late Aurelio Torres. Surviving are her sisters; Marina C. Sandoval of Hollister and Rosie Hermosillo of Escondido, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister, from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M., with the rosary offered at 7:00 P.M.. Family and friends will leave the mortuary Monday morning at 9:45 A.M. for a Mass Of Resurrection at 10:30 A.M. at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment, San Juan District Cemetery.

Toyoko S. (Tomi) Terasaki

Tomi Terasaki, as she was lovingly known, went home to be with the Lord on November 6th at the age of 72 years. Tomi was a native of Niigata, Japan ,who came to the United States in December of 1954 and to San Benito County in 1960. Tomi retired from Teledyne McCormick Selph as the Lead Person of the Manufacturing Department after 33 years of service to Teledyne. Her family stated that " besides being a great mother and a great grandmother, Tomi always cared about others, rather than placing herself first". She was the beloved spouse of the late Ryo Terasaki who died August 6, 1994. She was the loving mother of Tatsuya Mike Terasaki (Spouse Teresa Kay) of Glendale; and Theresa Natt (Husband David) of Oregon, devoted grandmother to Briana and Micah Teresaki and Akemi and Ryoko Natt. She is survived by other family members living in Southern California and Japan. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday morning at 10 A.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Private cremation will follow with interment at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, CA.

Victoria Lopez Reyes passed away in Hollister. She is the mother of Juan Reyes of Hollister.

Sue Torchia

Sue Torchia, 97 passed away in Tahlequah, OK. She is survived by her daughters Rose Cambiano, Tahlequah, OK, Lena Ingolia, Pomona and Thomas Torchia of Boston, MA, plus numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Mary Fortino of Hollister. Services have been held.

David (Bob) Castellano, a resident of Hollister since 1942, passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in New Mexico and was married to the love of his life for 47 years. He is survived by his wife Mary, children Paul, David and Lisa (Jeff), six grandchildren, brother Alcario (Carmen), and sister Mary.

Tommy Riesgo Medeles May 31, 1933 – March 2, 2012

Tommy Riesgo Medeles died in Hollister, CA on Friday, March 2, 2012. He was born in Tulare, CA on May 31, 1933. He graduated from Corcoran High School in 1952. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from San Benito High School after 15 years of service.

Jeannie A. Glass October 23, 1960 – March 17, 2012

Jeannie A. Glass passed away in Hollister at the age of 51. She was born in Tucson, AZ and lived in Hollister since 1976. She married her husband, Jere, in 1991 in Hollister.
